Family Background

Plans For The Future:
I have a strong inclination towards training, Specially employee engagement vertical. I am good with event management and would like to club the two and design a unique training programme to specially de-stress the corporate world.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
When I began my career HR was only meant to hire, fire and manage attendance. But in todays enviornment HR has become a stratigic player in the team. Todays organisations are more inclined towards organisational development along with a plan for succession rather than just business growth.
Done Differently:
I would have educated myself in the specialised employee engagement vertical and joined a media or event management or PR firm. This would have helped me in achieving my goals of being a specialied trainer much earlier.
Growth Strategy:
Updating once knowledge and being aware of the new developments in the market is the key. I use the six thinking hats to be creative and innovative in designing training programs based on the current need of the industry. Succession planning helps in setting one self free from the routine activities
Prized Accomplishment(s):
Have always been able to get to the bottom of any problem and the soulutions have alway been successful.Have been a strong pillar for all organisations I have worked with. My style of working is my asset. I work towards a process driven organisation rather than people dependent.
Required Reading:
I refer to siliconindia, citehr, shrm, hrcapital, human capital, toobeez, human resourcesgames. While for magazines i have a subscription to people and management, human capital, SHRM. It is always adviable to have collection of referance books from various authors. It gives a system to work with.
Other Thoughts:
I would like to thank you for giving me an opportunity to express my self on a platform like yours.
Degrees That Matter:
Yes I am looking forward to get certified on Vital Smarts - Crutial conversations, Crutial confrontation and influence trainng. I am also planning for a Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence certification programm.
Role Model:
My Father has been my biggest role model. He came from Kerala with only education in his hand. He has moved up to a position with his sheer determination and hardwork. A mere graduate,he managed to mastered the IT laws & now teaches MBA's, officers and commitioners of the IT dept. Honest, loving dad
Working Life Management:
Having your priorities set right helps to manage your work life easily. Today i am not taking up higher role as i am aware they will be very demanding. Today my daughter is my priority. I have flexi working option, work from home option too thus it is easy to strick the right work life balance.
Advice For New Professionals:
One needs to not follow the set sytems but learn to challange and come up with innovative ways to work. Sometimes feedback of tried and tested stuff needs to be considered but as a ref point only. Challanging and questioning is the key to have great results.
Career Profile:
My current role is of AVP HR. I handle the end to end HR at the global level. My role also demenads taking care of admin responsibility. I have a team of 3 to assist me in delivering my responsibilities efficiently.
The Decisions That Matter
My family has always been my priority. Hence on several occassions i have let go of opportunities to accomodate my piority. Eg. Moved away from Efunds to Prudential and then to Pantheon.
