Family Background
I am the youngest among three siblings. Both my parents are professors in college and as a result, quality education was always at a fore front in our family.
Contribution to the field
I have recently switched to a startup called Citrusleaf Inc which works with ditributed, noSQL databases. The thing that I most love about working here is the amount of learning that you get, from the people you interact with, on a day to day basis. It is definitely an amazing experience on its own.
Accomplishments:
I received a quality education, in college I was given a chance to try a lot of things and I excelled in athletics and table tennis. I owned my first house at the age of 23, 6 months into my professional career. Professionally, I still have a lot to learn and achieve and I am all up for it.
Scaling up the ladder:
It is still very early for me to answer that but I will quote a context here. In my previous company, I was not happy with the work and the management in my team and I knew it was not going to help me get ahead in my career. It is very important to draw a line and switch to better opportunities.
Suggestions:
I will just say one thing here. Keep learning. Try to take in everything from everywhere and adapt yourself to the new environment. It is a difficult world out there and stagnation will only push you backwards.
Success through professionalism:
I think there are some key things which you need to have to make your life successful on which you get a clarity when you are in a profession. Things like asking a lot of questions, accepting that you still need to learn, communicate effectively and above all, always be aware of the bigger picture.
Personal Description:
I am a pretty straightforward person. I like to achieve big things like everybody around me and I know I have the will to do just about anything if I set my mind to it. On a lighter note, I love baking and that's one thing that really cools me off :)
Managing:
For me personally, the difficulty has not yet started. But I feel that besides giving your completely in your scheduled place, you also need to prioritize and realize that it is okay to outsource some of the things at home, like cooking for instance, because you have only as much time in a day.
Doing differently:
I will definitely try to be more open in my approaches as I am still very early in my career. Also, one thing that I might have lacked previously was communication. You need to be very expressive in displaying achievements as well as displeasures.
Extra Certification:
I would not really recommend any technical certifications but I feel that everyone should have one thing they are really passionate about as an extra activity apart from work where they can really let themselves go and relax. This might be directly impact to your job but is equally necessary.
Current job Description:
Currently, being in a startup, I do a variety of projects with different people. This keeps things interesting and you tend to gain a lot from their experiences. I have a lot more responsibility and the learning is very fast paced.
