Obesity is the bodily condition due to an excessive storage or accumulation of fat. Women tend to be obese after marriage, at the time of pregnancy and at menopause. According to a new British survey, 60 years ago the average waistline of women’s measured 28 inches and today, we come in at 34 inches almost six inches more.
A panel of experts has figured out the real reason behind obesity problem. They say it’s because they just don’t do enough housework anymore. Researchers say on an average women used to burn 1,000 calories in a day keeping a house clean. Even the eating habits differ, as on an average women used to consume 1,818 calories a day back then, as compared to 2,178 now.

Dr. Ros Altmann lead researcher said modern-day appliances have drastically reduced the time and effort that women spend on housework these days. Now days cleaning and cooking has become much easier with advanced gazettes and different electronic items. This in turn has contributed to the bigger waistlines.

1: What male chauvinist id10T wrote this study? Lets just ignore the all the chemicals in the food that suppress and destroy the thyroid. Not to mention the depletion of iodine from the diet and the excessive use of refined fats - like canola oil. But no - it obviously has to do with a lack of house work - please how totally ridiculous and self serving. So typically male!

2: so true, I could loose weight easily when I was not working in the IT industry as I would eat just enough on time and would not be stuck to a chair for hours in front of the computer.
